Enjoy the Great Outdoors in Arkansas
It’s (almost) summertime! The weather is great, so you might have the urge to get outside and play. Besides that, June is National Great Outdoors Month. Lucky for us, there’s a beautiful state with lots of fun and family friendly outdoor activities right in our backyard.
If you crave water sports, trails for hiking, biking or walking, then Arkansas has you covered. Or maybe you enjoy exploring caves and camping…look no further! If you think camping means getting a little too close to nature, there are other options. Many of our state parks have cabins, lodges or even yurts to rent. Have you stayed in a yurt? It’s a unique way to enjoy camping with some added comforts of home.
There are 52 state parks in Arkansas, and there is bound to be one that can satisfy your appetite for outdoor fun. Click here to see a map of all of the state parks in Arkansas.
Don’t tell the kids, but outdoor fun can also be educational. During the summer break from school (and all year long), many of the state parks offer birdwatching lake cruises, animal talks, guided hikes and plant life identification workshops for all ages.
We live in a state that has so much nature to offer. This month, make an effort to get out and enjoy the great outdoors in Arkansas, or wherever you are.
