CAMA/GIS Integration
A picture is worth a thousand words has never been more true than it is in today’s digital world.
When data first became computerized, it was stored as kilobytes. We were inundated with reams upon reams of giant green bar paper reports generated from a noisy printer housed in the basement. As we have compiled more and more data, we have moved forward through megabytes, gigabytes, terabytes and beyond. Printers have become smaller and more convenient to use.
They now reside on our desktops and transform reams of plain paper into complicated reports with millions of data elements. These reports have been our means of “visualizing” data until recently.
In today’s digital world, whether it’s a picture of the mundane on Facebook or a texted picture of political unrest from around the world, we expect to see pictorial evidence of the facts. CAMA/GIS integration allows us to use our property data and our maps to create a picture to visualize relationships, patterns and trends, locate errors and omissions in data, and compare and contrast changes over space and time.
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Integration
